Dr. Lazer: Veneers can

Sherri Hershfeld admits she always hated her crooked front teeth. "I don't know why, but I never felt braces were an option," she says. "I never smiled much and certainly not when my picture was taken." But Hershfeld, a nurse, finally took the plunge in the office of Dr. Edward L. Lazer of Cosmetic & Advanced Dentistry. Just one week later, after a consultation, X-rays, and impressions were taken, Hershfeld had her new look. Granted, she was wearing temporary crowns, but it was only an additional 10 days before Hershfeld had her permanent crowns, which were followed up with a Brite Smile bleaching. "Once I made up my mind to do this, everything went very quickly and painlessly."
Of course, there were some adjustments to make on her part. "It took me
a while to get used to smiling," she says. "I was at a friend's house
recently and someone was taking photographs. There's one photo with me
smiling and me teeth showing, which would never have happened before." While most people over a certain age view a visit to the dentist with knotted
stomachs, if not outright dread, dentistry itself has changed dramatically over
the past decade and a half, wooing people like Hershfeld back into the dentist's
chair to fix things they never dreamed could be made right. |
